HEART is the advocate for the "underdog" whether feline or canine, fur or feather.
Since HEART was formed in 1984, we have saved the lives of thousands of animals!

URGENT NEED FOR FOSTER HOMES!!
HEART does not have a shelter facility and relies on volunteer foster homes.
It's true that no one person can save them all - but if you can make a difference in the life of even one animal,
your contribution is invaluable!! For more information visit our Foster Program page.

"GOSSAMER"

Gossamer is a loving, loyal, obedient, housebroken, crate trained, healthy, neutered male Black Lab / Dane. He was a beloved pet for 7 years and lost his family through no fault of his own. He needs a 6 foot fenced in yard for safe play and a caring, dog savvy family with a stay at home person who will appreciate his need to be a devoted companion. If the entire family will be gone for a while, he needs to be in his crate which he considers his safe place until the family returns. Having another canine playmate is a must. Gossamer loves other friendly dogs and cats too. As a 70 pound dog, he would be fine with older children who would not be overwhelmed by his size. For details on Gossamer, you may contact a HEART volunteer at AHL81@roadrunner.com or 716-549-0572 directly.

"HEIDI"
ARE YOU LOOKING FOR
A BALL OF FURRY LOVE THAT REALLY, REALLY NEEDS YOU?

Heidi (SG-59) was born with a deformed front paw but she doesn't consider herself handicapped in the least and gets around just fine. She is a sweet, spunky, outgoing, playful, affectionate bundle of energy. Her foster mom says she can be a little mischievous sometimes, but that's just 'cause she likes to jump on lots of high places.

Heidi adores humans but is a “diva” and doesn't like sharing center stage with other felines. She likes the Greyhound dog she shares her foster home with.

Heidi is just 2-3 years old. She knows has a funny little paw and she’s not a kitten – she knows. Every day she sees other cats go home while she's happy to settle for a scratch behind the ears. If only we could tell her that homes aren't just for other cats! That she could get picked too.

Is there anyone who could love Heidi just the way she is? Her adoption fee of $80.00 includes spaying, FIV and feline leukemia testing, de-worming, flea treatment, distemper vaccination, distemper booster, rabies vaccination and a Free First Vet Visit Certificate.
