HEART is the advocate for the "underdog" whether feline or canine, fur or feather.
Since HEART was formed in 1984, we have saved the lives of thousands of animals!

URGENT NEED FOR FOSTER HOMES!!
HEART does not have a shelter facility and relies on volunteer foster homes.
It's true that no one person can save them all - but if you can make a difference in the life of even one animal,
your contribution is invaluable!! For more information visit our Foster Program page.

"MICKEY" (RG-406)
Male Dalmation

Sensitive and smart handsome smaller Dalmatian, Mickey is seeking a companion and home to call his own. He's been shuffled around and wants very much to feel secure and likes a routine. Well mannered and eager to please, he's easy to care for. Needs a pet guardian he can trust and will provide leadership. We do not recommend a home with children or cats. He may become over-stimulated at times, but can be easily re-directed by a dog savvy pet parent. He does get along with many other dogs (not all), but he'd prefer to be the center of attention and maybe have a doggie playmate to visit. He loves to go for walks and runs and needs his exercise. He's looking to bond with someone who won't disappoint him again. Mickey is crate trained and has had formal obedience training. If you would like more information on Mickey, please contact a HEART volunteer directly at Redagal@aol.com.

"MISSY" (RG-413)
Keeshond/Spitz Mix

Missy is a female Keeshond Spitz mix. She weighs 36 pounds and is between 5-6 years old. Missy is definitely a lady. She greets most people with a bark or two and warms up to people quickly. She does well with other dogs and appreciates attention. Please e-mail Redagal@aol.com for more information

"BLACK BEAUTY" (RG-412R)
Male Rottweiler/German Spitz

I was rescued along with 11 of my brothers and sisters, plus my mom and dad. I’m Black Beauty, B.B. for short, and you may even think that stands for big baby. Regal, calm and reserved, once I know you’re a friend; I’m ready to be your buddy. I’m well-behaved, obedient, neutered, up to date with shots and housetrained. My rescuers believe I have great potential and are paying to board me until I can find my forever home. I miss family life and sure would like a soft pillow and a home to call my own soon. I do very well meeting folks and other dogs when we’re out in town. I’m not so sure about cats. At 2 years of age and just under 60 pounds, my photo doesn’t do me justice, so please contact a HEART volunteer at redagal@aol.com to receive an application and arrange to meet me. WNY applicants preferred.

"DAWG" (RG-415I)
Male Beagle/Jack Russell Terrier

Once I was the office mascot of a military unit but now my caretakers have been sent all over the world. I shared a home with both young and older children and small dogs, but now they've moved on too. It didn't take long to settle right in with my foster family. I enjoy the children, family TV time and our walks. I'm good with other dogs and living with cats. I'm 5 years, neutered, up to date with shots, housetrained and have the heart of a puppy. So if you think you can give this "Dawg" a home to call his own, please contact a HEART volunteer at paulam221@verizon.net. WNY inquiries only.
